Griffenstein Elementary School once stood where Leon Robinson Park is now. The school was closed and later suffered a lot of tornado damage in the 1990s. The school building had to be torn down. You can see some of the old school playground equipment.

Goldenrod park was actually opened as a park just a few years ago but Linwood elementary stood there since 1910 until they moved it to its new location at Linwood park. Part of the school is now the rec center at Goldenrod.

Dane, we don’t have any rules for hunting parks. Just please keep in mind that we are working very closely with the city and respect their property. Fill all holes and don’t detect sports fields when it’s really dry or they are in season. For example we all know that soccer and football fields are being used now so I would stay off of them. If you want to learn more you should attend one of our upcoming meetings or classes!
